On Sunday the 25th of March 2012, Edd Gould passed away after a six year long battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed.
It is very odd to be moved by the death of someone who is a total stranger when death is more than a common thing in the world, and in much more gruesome fashion than just from cancer in a hospital ward.
and yet i still admired the man, i hope i could achieve as much in my whole lifetime as he did his. R.I.P. Edd

pretty much sums it all up, well said. i wish i was told about these things about fandoms, i almost up and quit mlp. now i’m just happy enjoying contributing fanart, see other fan arts, animations, games and fun.
And yeah I get why people would be offended. However, to get angry at the name itself is stupid because it doesn’t mean anything. It’s that the voice actor decided, “I’m gonna put on my retarded person voice” that makes it pretty bad.
to be fair, the VA didn’t know the character was a mare, so she gave her a deeper voice which sounded more mental, but appropriate since many slow male characters of other shows like patrick from spongebob sound like that. but that wasn’t really her intention, she wanted to emulate the speaking of an adorable clutzy neighbor boy she knew.
